The giant huntsman spider is the largest huntsman spider and among the largest spiders on Earth. Adults weigh about 167 grams (5.9 ounces), just less than the largest goliath birdeaters. The giant huntsman has a remarkable leg span of 25–30 cm (9.8–11.8 inches), the longest of any known spider. Its body (sans legs) measures 4.6 cm (1.8 inches) long.
