Carlo Acutis will be canonized as a Roman Catholic saint on September 7, 2025. He was beatified by Pope Francis in 2020, making him “Blessed.” His canonization was scheduled for April 2025 but was postponed because of the death of Francis that same month. In June Pope Leo XIV, Francis’s successor, decreed that Acutis will be canonized in September at the same time as Pier Giorgio Frassati, an Italian lay Dominican who died in 1925 at age 24.
