Andrew Pepper is a Lecturer in English and American literature at Queen's University Belfast. He is the author of The Contemporary American Crime Novel (2000) and the co-author of American History and Contemporary Hollywood Film (2005). His first novel is The Lost Days of Newgate. His work appears in Encyclopaedia Britannica as part of a joint publishing agreement with the publisher of 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die, where the work originally appeared.
