Dr. Anne Rowe is a Senior Lecturer at Kingston University. She is the author of Salvation by Art: The Visual Arts and the Novels of Iris Murdoch and is also the Director of the Center for Iris Murdoch Studies at Kingston University. In addition to her teaching, she is the European Director of the Iris Murdoch Society and European Editor of the Iris Murdoch News Letter. She is also a contributor to 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die (2012), where an earlier version of this Britannica entry first appeared.
