Collins was the leader of the Irish Volunteers who waged an extensive and effective campaign against the British using guerrilla tactics.
Collins was a member of both Sinn F�in and the Irish Republican Brotherhood.
Sinn F�in member Arthur Griffin was the president of the Irish Free State who appointed Collins as finance minister.
Some believe that Collins may have been killed by people from his own political side in a conspiracy, but a soldier opposing the treaty and Collins's politics has claimed that he shot Collins himself.
