Ch’ŏngch’ŏn River
Ch’ŏngch’ŏn River, river, central North Korea. It rises in the Chŏgyu Mountains about 75 miles (120 km) northwest of the city of Hamhŭng. The Ch’ŏngch’ŏn flows generally southwest for about 125 miles (200 km) past the cities of Hŭich’ŏn, Kujang, and Anju, draining an area of rich agricultural plains and emptying into Korea Bay about 15 miles (24 km) due west of Sinanju.
