Antratsyt
Antratsyt, city, eastern Ukraine. Established in the late 19th century, it was incorporated in 1938. It is an anthracite-mining town, from which product it takes its name, and a typical industrial centre in the Donets Coal Basin. Its rise was due to the Soviet five-year plans for economic growth. Pop. (2001) 63,698; (2005 est.) 61,204.
