The McCarrick Report is a 461-page investigation released by the Vatican in 2020 about its handling of allegations against Theodore McCarrick. It highlighted decades of ineffective response to the accusations and implicated that Pope John Paul II (1978–2005) had been swayed by his friendship with McCarrick and by his own advisers not to act on the accusations.
