If global warming is limited to 1.5 °C above preindustrial levels, by 2100 the sea level will have risen 0.2–0.5 meter above benchmarks set in 2000. However, scenarios involving greater levels of warming suggest that the sea level could rise by up to 2 meters, and, should the ice sheets of Antarctica and Greenland fully collapse, the sea level could rise by up to 65 meters.
