On June 14, 2025, there will be a military parade in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Army. It is estimated that the event will cost between $25 million and $45 million. While the army had planned a parade, the event grew in size at the request of President Donald Trump, whose birthday is also on June 17. The price tag includes funds to fix any street damage caused by the heavy machinery. Pete Hegseth, the defense secretary, supported the parade and defended its cost.
