In 2022 a military museum in England found an unopened ration pack in its archive, originally given to soldiers during the 1944 Normandy Invasion. The pack contains, among other things, a block of meat, sweets, and four sheets of toilet paper. The museum director described the pack as having a “chocolatey beef” smell.
